Good Tuesday morning. It is so nice to see the sun. Yesterday we had a snow storm and a storm day. So no school and no appointments. I love having an excuse not to leave home.

This card uses Soft Suede, Pool Party and Calypso Coral. I feel I'm kind of stuck in a colour scheme. But it's so pretty. :)

The paper and set are from the new Occasions Mini. The bird in the heart really caught my eye and I just love him. He is perfect for all occasions. The new heart framelits make layering a snap.

This is another new and beautiful set out of the mini. It is called Apothecary Art. It is one of my new favorites and it is beautiful paired with this paper . The colours used here are Pool Party and Calypso Coral. I used a blender pen and ink to colour in the flowers and leaves. The new label framelits make cutting a breeze.

So the first month of 2012 is almost gone. I had such great plans to be super productive and to update the blog with cards and projects and some cool classes.

Funny how life has a way of changing your plans. On the morning of January 9th, my best friend and love of my life had a heart attack. After rushing him to the hospital, he needed to be airlifted to a bigger hospital in the city.

By the time I got the house, kids and chickens organized and made it to the hospital all was well and he seemed better. We spent a week in the hospital and have now been home for 2 weeks. Things are slowly returning to normal.....or as normal as our house can be.

I made this card for my sweetie. We do not really celebrate Valentine's Day, or am I really a heart crazy person. But a Heart seemed appropriate this year. Our 21st anniversary will be February 2nd so this is our anniversary card. I am truly grateful that he is here to share these days with me.

I used a new set from the occasions mini called Take it to Heart 125522.

Where does the time go? I have not had a single minute to myself all week. It doesn't look like I'll get some time until Sunday and by then I am way too tired to do anything but nap. LOL

Happy New Year!

I know you all thought I had fallen off the face of the earth..... for awhile there it felt like it!

I haven't been crafting as much as I would like too, but that all changes with a new year and a fresh perspective. We had the worse thing I can imagine happening come true. In October we lost our sweet little angel Kylar to SIDS at the tender age of 3 months.

That knocked me on butt as we tried to cope with our loss and help his parents find peace with their's. But life goes on weather we want it to or not. As my Mother would say , Christmas will come, ready or not. So with that in mind we hunkered down to have a family oriented Christmas. To count our many blessings and to move on from this heartbreaking loss.

As my Children head back to the city for school and work, and the rest of us stay put here at home. I am back to work crafting and finding peace and healing in my art.

I hope this year is full of blessings and promise for all my reader's.

It has been kind of crazy around here since school got started. Always something to do and lots of driving around in the car.
I just wanted to share this cute little project with you. It was made using the milk carton die. But instead of cutting 1 you cut 2 and then you get this cute little box.
This was for Charlottes 16th birthday! It held a necklace that she had been wanting.
I gathered the ribbons to go on top and and stacked a couple of buttons to be the cherry on the top!
It looks alot like a cute little cupcake. There are so many things you can do with these little boxes.

The card above measures 5x5. I decided to go with monochromatic to keep it simple. So I used rich razzleberry. The DSP is pocketful of posies.

This card is 6x6 and used the same DSP. But I used a baja breeze base, with poppy parade ink, with a touch of night of navy.

The card is a little busier but I still like it.

Another sketch challenge over at Freshly Made. I really wish I could get more time to do these wonderful sketches. Who said in Fall your pace is more laid back...mine got busier.

Wow, where did the week go? I can't believe it is Friday already. I did these sketch challenge cards on the weekend. I used a colour combo of Rich Razzelberry, Old Olive, Basic Gray and whisper white.
A fun and easy sketch to play with. I am just trying to get more done in the short time I have to play with my stuff. My mantra is organization!!!!

I happened upon a new sketch challenge this week! Freshly made Sketches you can find the site HERE.

I really loved this sketch. I used it with one of my favorite Fall sets, French Foliage. As well I paired it with this colour challenge. I must say I wasn't a huge fan of Pool Party, but I am now! I think it lends itself very nicely with Fall theme.

I am hoping to slip some more stamping into todays schedule. Fingers crossed!

As you are aware, I LOVE sketch challenges. ven if I don't get time to do them every week, I print them off and put them into my inspiration book. So when I have time, I can try whatever tickles my fancy.
I love the Create with Connie and Mary challenges and this week I actually made the time to try it out.
For this card I used a colour combo of River Rock, Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze. The paper is Well Worn. A fantastic masculine paper package. I was so excited to be able to pull this set out of the retired bin.
It will be available to purchase until July 2012!

So give some of those sketch challenges a try. It's a fun way to spark your creativity!

I love to make simple and quick cards. But I don't want them to look like you just threw them together.
So this technique is perfect, I got the idea from DOstamping with Dawn.
I don't normally case other people's cards but this was just such a "why didn't I think of that moment".
I cut some chipboard rectangles in different sizes then clipped them all together so I can find them easily. then I just stamped the flowers and drew around the edges of my cut out and stopped at the flowers. These cards use the new in colours of calypso coral and lucky limade as well as a little cajun craze for some fall flavour.
Quick, easy and pretty!

I have to admit that Halloween has a special place in my heart. It is my dear husbands birthday so it is always a special time at our house. The kids always get super excited at this time of year making plans and picking out costumes.
This card was super easy using the Bingo card Background stamp and the super cute Spooky Bingo Bits set.
Colours used were Lucky Limade, Pumpkin Pie, Concord Crush, Cajun Craze and Island Indigo

These are 2 cards I worked on last night. The sketch challenge is from Stamping 411.

I really enjoy my file of sketch challenges and love to go and see what inspires me.

The colour combo is one that I would not of thought to put together but I love it! Again I saw it somewhere as a colour challenge. The colours are Cajun Craze, Bashful Blue, Peach Parfait and Very Vanilla. It just has an end to summer feel to it.

Happy Labour Day!
It is kind of sad to see labour day already. We didn't have much of a summer and already our maple trees are turning their shades of orange and red. Kids return to school, and we begin to dread the oncoming cold and wet.
I made these cards using s sketch challenge but I'm not sure which one. But one from the last week or so.
I thought this set was so cute for little boy's and maybe even big boys too!
This is the new Birthday Cake paper and it has so many beautiful colours in it.

These are a really fun and easy project. Great for weddings, school treats, Halloween and so forth.

They are called sour cream container's. Not sure why, because in Canada we don't get sour cream like that.

They are fun to make and a little addictive once you get going. I could only get three done before my little mice friends (the kids) got my Reese pieces and carried them all away!

I did these cards for a sketch challenge last week. The challenge came from the stamping 411 blogspot.
I save all the challenges I find so I can look at them later, I don't always have a chance to play right away. :)
The colours used are blushing Bride, Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz.
This set is new in the big Idea Book and Catalogue. I love the Two step stamping sets. They are always pretty and versitile. I really like the purple over the pink. It reminds me of those dyed flowers you find at the super market, pretty but not what you find in your everyday garden.

I am caught up a little after a busy sumer and should be posting everyday this week, can you believe it???

I was so excited to be able to get one of these little babies. I saw this unit at Costco the other day. But our truck was full so I had to wait to pick one up. Lucky for me, I snagged the last one off the shelf and still on sale last Saturday.

It is every thing I thought it would be. My Big Shot dies fit perfectly, with labels up so I can find what I need.

The DVD cases fit perfectly in the drawers as well. I am working at filling it up. :)

It is not super pretty but I am going to make a fabric cover with a Velcro front piece. I will share that when I finish it.

I am always looking for cool ways to store all my stuff.

The wonderful thing about scrap booking is it can be about anything. It can include people, places or things. It can be funny, sad or very personal. It's all about your picture, story or inspiration. I look at it as a creative journal, as I pondered my Mother's life through pictures left behind I wish i had insight into who she was and what she became. I didn't ask my Mom a lot about her life, she didn't really share so I wonder about the beautiful girl in the pictures.

I don't want my kids to wonder about me, so for the first time ever, I am scrapping about me.

Sort of a what makes me tick......idea.

I just wanted to share this photo, taken on a warm sunny day, spent driving the country side with my husband. There is beauty all around. Take a moment today to find the beauty in your life.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I used the new Paper and stamp set from the Summer Mini. I have had these pictures from Lunenburg for such a long time. The sweet little boy from the pictures turned 17 this week.

The colours in the paper are Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler with some Early Espresso thrown in for good measure. I used the new bakers twine as well. I love new stuff, but then again who doesn't!

Since it is National Scrapbooking Month. I thought I would show a couple of pages I have scraped in the last week or so. I have a bunch of kids so I have been slowly trying to catch up. This is Laura at about a year old. She had the chicken pox, 2 days after we moved into our new house. LOL Just moved and 3 kids with the pox.

I did these pages using the Sale-a-Bration scrapping kit. Stampin' Up! has a bunch of scrappin' kit's making it easy to mix and match. I like having it all together no digging for supplies.

Well, the weekend is over..... it was a very nice Easter but very quiet as well. I am getting a lot done in the craft room with my husband bed bound for the time being.

I love this set form the new upcoming mini. I will be showing you the scrap pages I did of my son using the paper on May 1st! The start of National Scrapbooking Month. I have really gotten into scrapping and have made some great pages. I went to a crop a few weeks ago and since then I have done several other pages I am on a roll. :)

Since Easter is just a hop skip and a jump away..... I thought I would share this adorable bunny with you.

This little guy is all made up of punches and Big Shot die cuts. It uses the sweet treat candy cups as well. I am making these for our supper table for Easter Dinner. You can also put these little guys on sucker sticks. I'm going to put them in a little pail for a center piece.

Here he is from the back, I sponged all around both edges on both sides of the bunny.

This picture shows you how the back slides up so that you can fill him up with whatever you like. I am using Jelly Bellies. Then you slide it up again to eat the treat.

I got this idea from Sharon at Sharon's scrappy spot.

This is another sneak peak of a new mini set. It is called On the Grow. It is so sweet. I water coloured the scooter first and then added some dazzling diamonds on top using a 2 way glue pen.

The colours used here are Razzelberry and Melon Mambo. The modern label punch was paired with the 4 frames stamp set. This is really cute and only available til the end of this month. It will be available again in July, but I know you stampers and I know we don't like to wait.

This is the new embossing folder the summer mini. Available starting May 1st. The sample above is using it as an embossed image. I ran my 2 way glue pen over the raised lines and dusted it with Dazzling Diamonds. It really glitters. Colour combo used here is Peach Parfait, Pear Pizazz and Melon Mambo.

This sample is done using the debossed side of the image. Both are lovely. I used the peach ribbon and a little tag to finish off the card. I love the ability to quickly make simple and pretty cards. I know I am short on time and it seems to be a common ailment these days.

Take some time craft a card and send it to someone the good old fashioned way. Through the mail.

It is a cold and somewhat rainy day here. To miserable to be doing yard clean up (Yahoo!) but a perfect day to play with paper.

This series of cards is to show how you can take a simple card from pretty to wow! This set is from the Occasions mini and is called Easter blossoms, if you don't have this set it is only available until the end of the month. The card uses a simple colour combo of Blushing Bride and Early Espresso. After stamping the image I used a white signlo gel pen to colour in the blossoms. Very pretty card that is simple to do.

This card gets stepped up a notch, with the addition

of a piece of ribbon and some stick on pearls. I went over top of the white gel pen with a 2 way glue pen and added some dazzling diamonds glitter it really adds to the card.

You can step the card up again, by adding a simple sentiment that has been done with punches.

Simple and easy ways to take your creations up a notch.

Think about how you can step up your next creation.

Happy Tuesday everyone! The sun is shining and I am going to assume that it is warm outside. But at least I see no snow. So I am content.

Today I am going to show you a sneak peek at a new set from the summer mini. (the mini doesn't start til May 1st)

This set is called The Open Sea, and the designer paper that goes with it is called Nautical Expedition. The colours featured in this great paper are Not Quite Navy, Basic gray, Cherry

Cobbler and Early Espresso.
I don't usually make masculine cards, but with this set it is so easy. I also live out on the East Coast so boats, water and nautical items are all around. The paper gives me an excellent chance to scrap book those pictures from our Lunenburg tour and boat excursion.

I have a few more samples to show you to show case this beautiful set. Coming out out in the summer mini.

I just wanted to share these cute and easy pages today. I did this layout for a workshop. I used the idea from Shelae Brown. Her sweet page and set use really inspired me, but I tweaked it !!! :)

I used a colour combo of Old Olive, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso with a hint of vanilla thrown in. The real star of the page is the distressing kit. What an amazing kit!! The distressing ink and stamp that goes with it, really gives that aged paper feel.

I showed two variations of the page to show how nice it looks with vintage black and white as well as colour photo's.

I just need to fill in the journaling and then I have 2 pages finished. The page size of these is 8x8 but I think I am going to add them to a 12x12 sheet of paper so they can go in my album.

The top page is a photo of my Mom, she is in her teens in this picture. I found it while I was going through some old photo's. I wish I knew more about my Mom from this time. But we never think about it until it is too late.

The other page is my youngest, although this photo was taken a few years ago. I can't believe she is turning 12 today!

Wow it is April first already. The weather has decided to play a big joke on us and provide some snow. Just when I thought it was safe to bring out my sneakers. Wow, where did February go? I now find myself in March.

Here is another card made with the Nature Walk set. It is absolutely a great set. I used River rock, baja breeze, Rose red and very vanilla.

I love this new Tulip boarder embossing folder too. Easy to make pretty vintagy cards.

This was a special request. For an over sized pink and feminine Birthday card. I loved making it.

The card is 5 1/2 by 51/2 square. It was made with pink pirouette, regal rose and pretty in pink. I embossed it with the elegant lines folder so pretty! I used lot's of bling, those fabulous pearls and dazzling diamonds glitter.

To do the ribbon I ran it through the sewing machine with a basting stitch, I gathered it and adhered to the card using sticky strip.

I really like how it turned out.

I really love how this card turned out. I used a colour combo of River Rock, Baja Breeze, Rose Red and Very Vanilla.
I stamped the main image with black Stazon and then cut it out. I watercoloured using the aqua painter and reinkers. I then adorned the image with the pearls. I love these, one of my fave products in the catty.
The ribbon roses are new as well in the Occasions Mini, they come in very vanilla but I used my rose red marker to colour it to match. I also adore the seam binding ribbon, so pretty.
I ran the river rock piece through the big shot with the elegant lines folder and then gave it a quick spritz with the log cabin smoosh spritz.
I love the vintage feel of this.

Variations on a theme. I really do love this colour combo. For some reason I am on a Valentines day kick. Thses are both based on the stamping 411 sketch.

I have not had time to stamp yet this week as I am working all week and have a super nasty head cold.

This sketch was a Saturday sketch challenge from Stamping 411.

They are an excellent source of inspiration. I didn't get this one posted in time. My goal is to do and link all the challenges I can this year. I can do better than last year I'm sure.

The colours are Regal Rose, Rose Red, Vanilla and Old Olive. An all time fave of mine.

I used a jumbo wheel and a 3 ink cartridge that I inked myself. The heart i stamped then cut out. I used dazzling diamonds and a few rhinestones for the bling factor.

I have a few more from this sketch to post later in the week.

Wow, I can't believe this is my first card posting for the new year and it is already the 9th. I have some other cards to post this week, but I am working.... (at a real job) this week and will be short on time. I am grateful for the work though.
This card is made from Bashful Blue and whisper white. I embossed it with the elegant lines embossing folder and then lightly sponged ink over the top of the embossed lines. The image is from the Friends 24-7 set, item number 113218.
I set a couple of rhinestones into the image for a bit of bling. Added bashful blue satin ribbon bow, finished off with a antique brad. I LOVE the brads so pretty!
For me this is a pretty simple card and looks beautiful. imo. :)

It was my friends birthday just before Christmas. It must kinda suck to have a Birthday close to the biggest gift giving day of the year. So I wanted to make her day extra special. (as well I was itching to use my new giant cup cake pan)

So I made her a cute card. (I normally don't do cute.) Using espresso, pink pirouette, and not sure what green that is. But it looked super. I used a sketch challenge but again don't remember which one. I am going to blame it on the massive blow my head took on the 21st.

The cupcake is huge and you bake it in 2 pieces. How much fun is a giant cupcake???? My kids have already put in their requests. Check it out here.

I think she really liked it........ since I didn't get a piece. LOL

Well he's been at it again. A new design and a sweet little face. I still marvel at how Mike can sit down and draw out a perfect pattern. I would need a few attemps to do it so well. The guy has skills.

This sweet little girl has already found a new home. She's living the bear's life out at Sandy Bottom lake.

The bears are entirely hand stitched. Stuffed with fiber fill and steel shot. German glass eye's and needle sculpted faces.

We have tons of supplies so there will be new bears rolling out the door soon!

Well, we are certainly down to the crunch time of Christmas. Here are a few more cards from the swap I did awhile back. I got so many great cards with super ideas.

I am back home now, from being up to the city with my youngest. She had her final back surgery (lengthening) and she is excited to have that part behind her. This was her 8th surgery in 4 years. In 2011 she will go for a spinal fusion. Also we got great news about that. She has reached her growth markers so they only have to fuse from the back, not from the front as well. It is all good news.

Next week I will try to post some new ideas and some projects.

It is a snowy cold Saturday. I haven't had the chance to make cards. But we have shuffled back into an old hobby. Bear making. I googled us today and couldn't believe how many hits we had.

We are changing our name... don't know to what yet. I have already booked ourselves into a show. Happy to be getting back in with old friends.

We gave up bear making due to me having Cancer and a sudden change of address. But it is almost therapeutic to be going back to it. Now I need to get my super organization skills happening. LOL

I will be posting more bears.... but once we are ready I will have a blog devoted to the furry faces.

I love finding new ways to use things. This card was made using the the Mover's and Shaper's die from Stampin'Up!. I used the Ornament die from the SU exclusive add on dies.

It co-ordinates with the ornament punch. Which I punched and then ran through the big shot to emboss it with a snow flake. Add a pearl and quick as a wink you have a cute and easy flip flop card.

Quick and easy is very good at this time of the year.

I just love Neutrals. The combo of these cards is white, black and crumb cake. Very simple and very pretty. I used the flurries embossing folder for this card and then sponged the frost shimmer ink on top. I love the sticky back pearls and dotted them in the snowflake centers. A nice easy card to reproduce if needed. I used the embossing folder Petals a Plenty on this card and embossed a piece of shimmery white cardstock. I figured I had an unopened package so I better be using it. I also stamped the tree image onto shimmery white as well. Added more pearls. I think they are the best things and you get so many in the package.

The count down to Christmas is on and I for one am trying to make it simpler. I just want to relax and spend time with the family and create some new cool traditions.

We are going to search out our German roots and add a few traditions in from there.

So we shall see what we come up with.

These are some tri fold cards I made for a friend. She bought the little 3-D stickers and wanted a couple of wow cards for people.

I love making these cards so easy and and so much fun.

I embossed most of the paper pieces and sanded them. I spritzed them with Vanilla smooch as well. I love that stuff!!

I love the deck the halls paper and will have to snag more before it's gone.

So today being terribly rainy I have decided to play hooky for awhile from what should get done to play with my new download.

Since I have not purchased this set yet, it is kind of fun to play with.

I love MDS. I can use it to see what a card will look like before I use supplies to make it. I am a terrible hoarder and hate to use anything. I need to save it all for later. LOL

I hate to say it but I am excited for Christmas this year. For the first time since my Mom passed away. I guess I am slowly getting to my new normal. My friends would say I have never been normal. (Actually I asked my DH if I could put up the tree, he said no) He's a meaney.

I seem to always have Christmas on my mind these day's. My kids are already starting to be excited for snow and sledding and hot apple cider. I am a little ready for these things as well.
This card is made with Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake and the Deck the Hall's and of course a new fave of mine Cherry Cobbler.
The image is from the Holiday Mini set called Bells and Boughs. I stamped the image on a piece of Very Vanilla and immediately went over it with a aqua painter (water pen) It bleeds the colour out of the ink to softly colour the image. Giving a vintage look to the card.

This is a fun little sketch from the create with Connie and Mary blog.

I made one card the standard 4 1/4 x 51/2. Used the Wicked Fun designer paper and the stamp set called Wicked Cool. Love it. My DH's birthday is Halloween and it is kind of a special Holiday for our family.

This card was done using the Greeting Card Kids set. (A must have) and the Candy Cane Lane papers. I also used the absolutely too cool new sizzix snowflake die. Another must have! You need a little bling so I added the glimmer brads. I hope these show up in the big catty in June.

This last card uses a colour combo of Cajun craze, Sahara sand, and pacific point. The card measures 5x5 square. The set is from the mini and is called French foliage. It is so pretty. I just love it!

I am not getting a lot of crafting time in....time is at a premium right now with too many pot's on the stove. I will be happy when the first week of November is over. :)

So I made a star and attached it to a wreath. The star is covered in the Candy Cane Lane paper. The rosette is made of co ordinating paper and I just punched out a cute accent from the paper as I have not purchased that set...YET!

I love the usual cool weather that this time brings. But we have had a heat wave the last few days. Muggy at this time of year? yuck.
I am posting this card today as it has 2 of my favorite things. Owls and Halloween.
I learned this technique from the amazing Michelle Zindorf.
Her card was way cooler than mine, but I am working on it. I hope to snag some time today for stamping we will see how the day goes.

This was such a fun challenge. I found it at Create with Connie and Mary. The challenge was to create a card using a cake as inspiration. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you use the picture for inspiration.

I took the colours from the cake Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz and Burgundy.

The Background stamp is called Print Pattern. It is retired but a favorite of mine.

The flowers are from Vintage Vogue and I rock and rolled them. (How fun is this!)

I used the colours from the colour palette.

I don't usually do inspiration challenges but this was so much fun.

It's beginning to feel like Christmas? I hope not I am just not ready for it. I love Fall and we still have to get through Halloween. But for some reason I have been working on Christmas. This is a sketch challenge from Stamping 411, HERE.

It is a nice simple sketch and I really enjoyed working with it. I don't have alot of the new sets from the mini.....yet! So I reached for some old tried and true friends. A personal favorite Snow Swirled. The card above is done in a Pink Pirouette and Basic Black theme with a little Vanilla thrown in. It was a colour combo challenge I saw on some one's blog. But I have forgotten where.(But I just figured it out...Stamping 411) I am going to get a book to write challenges, dates and where I found them. Organization is not really my strong point.

This card again using snow swirled is done in another favorite combo of mine Riding Hood Red and Basic Black with Very Vanilla. I really like the stitched rub on's (not SU!). If I ever drag my machine upstairs, I will sew on everything.

I think this is my favorite card. For me totally not a colour scheme I would use. Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Night of Navy. But I really like it. I also flipped the sketch so I could use Christmas Collage. This challenge made me realize I need Taffeta ribbon in every colour. I guess I really just need more ribbon. :)

I am hoping to be able to get more stamped today. But my children are telling me I promised them baking so we'll see what happens.

It's been a busy week. Most of my family has been very ill with a flu like bug. So I really haven't stamped much. I am hoping to remedy that today. I took place in a swap a few weeks ago. I got back 40 fabulous cards all showcasing items in the holiday mini. This card was created by Dorthy Sealfer from Alberta. I just love the golden halo.

I think this was my absolute favorite card. It is glittery and vintage and just excellent.

It was made by Michelle Tamboline.

I just love how she made the pumpkin. I would have never thought of that. Really cute! This card was made by Shyla Ducharme.

I love being able to participate in the swaps. I get great ideas from them. The downside is it makes me want Set's I said I wasn't going to buy.

Another Favorite from the Holiday Mini..... Christmas collage. There are so many things you can do with this set. I was trying to case a beautiful card that I saw on stampin'connection. But I just couldn't for the life of me recreate it. So this is the next best thing. LOLI used Cherry Cobbler (my new favorite red) and very vanilla. I just tried to cut the pieces so I could layer them together it sort of worked. But I still really like how the cards turned out. The mini pearls work so well on the ornament.

Simple and pretty. That's perfect!

I made these cards for the colour challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary. I just adore these colours. Crumb cake, Tangerine Tango, Early Expresso and Very Vanilla. I am feeling somewhat hungry now. lol

The card above uses Elements of Style set, with the new antique brads and victoria lace. I ran the base through the Big Shot with the square lattice folder and spritzed it with the vanilla smooch. I really like how it turned out. :)

I love the Artistic etching's set. Wasn't sure if I wanted it but I now reach for it over and over. Really love it, especially in this colour combo. This is a combo, that I will use again soon. Happy Saturday! Hope your day has something stampy in it.

Hope everybody is having a fabulous Thursday. For some reason I keep thinking it is Friday, but good news I have an extra day this week. (Don't we all wish that?)

These are some Christmas Star ornament's that I made using the The Bigz 5 point star. The funny thing is I bought this to make petals for a flower quilt. Another on my huge to do list.

I used the awesome Deck the Halls paper. I also used the equally fabulous set called Bells and Boughs. The Holiday mini is chock full of super cool stuff, and we all need more stuff......right.

I have a picture tutorial on how to do the basic star. It is in the two posts below this one.

(I will be adding a video on how to do the rosette because it is easier to see than to tell how to.)

5 point star tutorial: Part one.

To make the star you need, the Bigz die, Big Shot, glue stick, sticky strip (red line tape) , designer series paper and chipboard. I used the backing board from the designer paper.

I cut the paper and backing board 3x5 inches. You need 5 pieces of each. You need to run each piece through the Big Shot one at a time. This die has scoring lines and cutting more than one at a time will cause the score lines to cut through.

When you have all your pieces cut. Fold all the score lines on all the pieces.

They should look like the ones in the above picture.

Glue both pieces. It will help the paper adhere better and it also gives you a little bit of slip so that you can line the pieces up properly.

You should then have 5 identical pieces. Go on to part 2.........

5 point star: Part 2

Use the sticky strip on the side tabs of the star points. Apply tape to 4 points.

The first point needs sticky strip on both tabs, on the 3 points you only need sticky strip on the far tab. By the time you get to the last point you will have sticky strip on all the tabs that need it.

Or for extra hold you can put it on all tabs. :)

Then you just peel the red liner off. Line up the 2 tabs and press them together.

Keep adding the points to the star. Make sure to apply a little pressure to the tabs to make a good bond with the adhesive.
Only one more point to go......it's really easy, isn't it!

Here is the finished star ready for decoration.

I will post the rosette tutorial tomorrow. These are fun and can be made in all different sizes.

As I have said I love a great Sketch challenge this is the Saturday Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411.
The card above is a simple Black and white scheme with just a splash of Cherry Cobbler. I love the Glimmer brads. (new in the Holiday mini)
The card below is in a colour scheme of Pear Pizazz and blushing Bride. I wasn't sure about Blushing Bride but I use it now all the time. The set is from the idea book and it is called Just Believe. It is another staple for me. I love it so great for so many techniques and occasions.
I used the pear Pizazz ribbon and Glimmer Brads in the Blushing Bride colour. I really love how it all turned out. The same sketch but 2 different looking cards.

I have to say that although I miss my Husband (he recently started back to work) I get so much more done. LOL
I haven't really stamped in along time. But you can see by my daily updated blog that I am stamping everyday.
I love the focus and creativity I get from stamping everyday. Quite house ........ It's a good thing!

Happy Tuesday.... where has the week gone? We had a nice Labour Day holiday, which ended with our son going up to the city to live. So that is 2 out and 4 still to go. But it is all bittersweet isn't it.

This set is called Just Believe. It was the set in the new catalogue that jumped right out at me.

It is perfect for colouring in with marker's as well as for solid stamping. I love this set so much, I know I say that alot. But I am like a kid in the candy store. This is a hobby that I truely love working at. It is so cool when an idea or design actually works. And you are able to say, I like this alot!

The good thing about my husbands new job is it gives me lot's of time to stamp.

It is a bright and beautiful day. We came through the storm well. Thankfully. These are the last of the Halloween cards I have done so far. The card above uses the new Waffle paper. It is very cool. You can emboss it, fold it , pleat it it goes around a circle beautifully, it can also act as ribbon. Definitely a useful product.

Both these cards use the Dark and Dreary stamp set. It's a favorite of mine. I love owl's and this one has the most beautiful one. These card's use the co ordinating wheel and spider web embossing folder.

Halloween is an exciting time in our home, with the raising of 6 children and it being my husbands birthday. It is always a time of excitement and decorations and party themes.

I absolutely love a good Sketch Challenge. I actually stalk a few blog's just to do them. This was this weeks challenge. You can find her blog here. Below is her sketch, a million things you can do with it!
Below is my first card with this sketch. I looked through the Colour Coach to find the combo....which is Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizazz. I used the new sticky back 1/2 pearl's (Lovin'them) and one of the new level one hostess set's for the flowers. It co ordinates with the Boho Blossom Punch.
I like the fresh colour combo, and did you spot the new glimmer brads. Another must have!

I really love the clean graphic look of Black and white. So I made another card using the same sketch. I changed it up just a little, and used the sticky back rhinestones. (lovin'it again :))

We are experiencing the tail end of Hurricane Earl. So far so good. Lot's a rain and wind but we have come safely through.

I thought I would change over from Fall to Christmas and introduce you to some more new Stampin'Up! product. The mini is just so full of cool stuff.

This stamp set is Bells and Boughs set(c 121142). It is so cool and has so much matching accessories.

The paper is called deck the halls (120810) is so great for cards, scrapbooks and embossing.

The paper gets a nice distressed look when run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.

This set has a coordinating wheel Belle (121430) which I am playing with today.

Not to leave out such fun stuff as 1/2 inch seam binding (this stuff is so beautiful, soft and shiny),Glass Glitter (I heart this stuff) waffle paper and the tinsel trim.

I just received the Christmas Collage Background stamp as well. It is so pretty, I've only made one card with it but I can't wait to make more.

I wanted to share this photo again. I really like how this card turned out. I wanted to be able to show it close up. The colours are Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. The picture below is a close up of the pumpkins.

I absolutely adore the new set Dark and Dreary. The Raven is perfect for Halloween. This reminds me of my favorite Harry Potter movie Prisoner of Azkaban. It looks like it is a scene just outside of Hagrid's door. I really love the masking technique, very simple but visually appealing as well.

Aren't these just the happiest little pumpkins all ready for their big night. The background is the amazing spider web folder and I even added the little spider from Dark and Dreary to the tag.

I spent last night reorganizing my scrap room. Hopefully it will be more user friendly now. I never have room for my cutter and scor pal. We are getting ready for Earl, the tracker shows that it's path is right over our house. Hopefully all will be well and I can share more cards with you tomorrow.

The maple tree's in my front yard are telling me it's fall......but the heat is telling me I need to move to someplace cold. I love fall it's my favorite season, so I have been working on some fall themed cards. This card uses the new spider web embossing folder and a new set called Dark and Dreary. I love it! The other set is an older set but so much fun to play with. I used the masking technique and water coloured with re inker's.

It reminds me of Harry Potter with the raven's and pumpkins. (Can't wait for the new movie in November)

This set called Autumn Harvest is so fun to colour. I cut out the leaves individually and attached

them last. I really like these colour's together and it has started me thinking of all the wonderful things that are coming up in the fall.

I have lot's of samples to post...... so keep checking back for new cards.

Still on an inspirational kick.... I continued on to make this card which I love. I am now a huge Peach Parfait fan. I stamped and cut out 2 flowers and layered them together and added a scalloped circle punch on the bottom. I curled the petals on the top flower and added a build a brad as well. I love using the partial medallion stamp as well. All in all I have had a pretty creative and productive week.

I made this card last week using the Stamping 411 colour scheme which was Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait and Elegant Eggplant. Colours that I wouldn't put together normally...but I really love the combo.
This card was inspired by a card from Melissa Huie. We have a wonderful Demonstrator web site and she had a beautiful card there. I changed alot and left out some of her details. but she really inspired me to use stamps in different ways.
If you notice the brads in the center of the flowers, they are the new glimmer brads from the holiday mini. This is the In Colour selections. They are so pretty!
The brad in the large center is our build a brad I will do a short video on how this is used and will post it later in the week. It is another great product I have been hoarding. But it is so fun to use. Look for more more projects coming up using this cool (not so new product)

Today I am bringing you another journal. I love this these papers and stamps. They are fabulous and definately a must have.
I made this journal for myself. I love how it turned out . I am also using it everyday. Gasp.... I am the worst one for keeping a journal.
These are super easy to do and a wonderful gift to recieve. The dollar store was closed or I would be working on more right now. Have a happy Sunday. I will have more to show you but I am working on submission work right now so it is all under wraps for now.
