May is National scrapbooking month. I did this page using The My Digital Studio software. I love how quickly I can create and also the chance to use the papers and embellishments repeatidly without running out.

This is one of my favorite photo's of my Grandmother and was so happy that I can scrapbook it for future generation's.

Supplies
card stock: Almost Amethyst (R), Certainly Celery and Pretty in pink
Watercolour crayons
Textured impressions square lattice (new)
Vanilla shimmer smooch (new)
Greeting from Watercolour Trio (new)
Set: Bloomin Beautiful....... I love this set, I hope it doesn't retire this June.
Scallop oval and large oval punches.

I sprayed the celery piece after I ran it through the big shot. It has a subtle shimmer. I can't wait to have more time to play. I have been pretty sick this week and just trying to hold my head up has been an effort. Hopefully I will be well soon.

As we say Hello to our new and fabulous colour collections...... we must also say good bye to some old tried and true favorites. I think I will miss blush blossom most of all. But I can't wait to get my hands on some of the new colours. I love the excitement as we build up to the new in colour collection. That's a total of 10 new colours. Yummy!

That being said, now is the time to get those retiring colours before they are gone for good...... once inventory is gone, it's likely that their will be no second chance.
So call me or shop online http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/lisacheney/

This card is a nice simple card that can be done in a flash. I started with a base of Sahara sand (I love this colour) I stamped the medallion in Sahara sand as well. I then stamped again on a scrap of SS and punched it our with the 1 3/4 circle punch. I love the crystal brads, so I popped one into the middle of the flower. I used chocolate chip textured card stock and some beautiful 5/8 satin ribbon. I also used the scallop border punch. (It will be available again in July)
I love to do quick and easy cards. I don't seem to have a ton of time these days. I also am in between spaces at the moment. I just want to get settled so I can be creative.

After buying all those fun My Digital Studio downloads, I had to spend some time playing with them. I love the new alphabet and the punches are so much fun too!
But I think my favorites are the new vintage overlays. So much fun to work with.
The more I use My Digital Studio (MDS) the more I absolutely love it. Absolutely a must have tool.
I will be uploading again today, I want to show a couple of samples using a few colours from our upcoming Colour Renovation. I cannot wait to be able to get my hands on these new colours. June is going to be an exciting month. :)

These are various views of our newly finished dining room. We just love it. Right now it is my favorite room in the house.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

I have completed the decore element in the dining room. I didn't video it as it was a 2 person job and really needed the whole attention focused on it. I will video putting up a smaller element but I did take pictures of the process. With this particular one it needed to have the Believe centered and put on and then 14 other pieces lined up and applied. It took us a couple of hours but boy I think it is worth it. I live in a 200 year old house with plaster walls. The walls were rough and uneven where I wanted to place it. So we decided to paint a board and applied it to that. (that way if we move, I can take it with me)

This is showing the placement of one of the pieces. It is then burnished with a scraper tool and the paper is pulled off to show the vinyl underneath. It is actually pretty easy to do. It just requires time and some practice.

I really enjoyed doing it and the effort is well worth it. I wanted a cool focal point for the dining room and I got it!

Well the sun is out and it is a beautiful day, just never enough time. I want to be outside but we have so much to do inside. The good news is the dining room is almost done. The last is to paint the ceiling and floor. I also have the extra large Tres Chic decor element to put up. I will be filming a video of that for you, look for it at the end of next week.

Now to get back to what I am showing you today. These are some digital pages I have done recently. I was inspired just by viewing the photographs. I had these printed by the Stampin'Up! printer so I can't wait to get them.

I love these pics of Ayden taken last summer. He had stolen the sucker from his unsuspecting Uncle and wouldn't give it back. It was pretty comical.

If you do one you have to keep everybody happy. So I did up these pages of Charlotte and Laura, taken last year on a beautiful summer afternoon that I am so longing for again.

The work continues at our house. A new back door has been put in but the dining room still isn't painted and the new dishwasher is at least in the kitchen. My craft room is far from being completed but.....we have a room and a plan for now.

I am going to try to start regular posting next week.

For now I am going to show you the new downloads available for My Digital Studio.

Item Number Name Price
121063 Satin Ribbon - Digital Download $5.95
120171 Mini Project Boxes - Digital Download $2.95
120172 Springs Shades Designer Series paper - Digital Download $6.95

I can't wait to get a chance to play with these new items. I love the digital scrapping aspect. Lot's of fun items to play with and totally reusable so that means being a little more green.

Never have truer words been spoken. There has been a lot of stuff that I have wanted for awhile. But times and budgets being what they are, I put a lot of it on a wish list. But my dear Father sent me a gift and after some bills and some home repairs, I had a little left to splurge on ME!

What fun it was to be able to unpack the boxes. I was so excited to get 3 sizzix alphabets for cutting chipboard. I am always in need of chipboard letters. Now I can have them any time I like.

so here is a close up of all the goodies one more time. I know you want to see them because you are so Happy for me. I know that I can't let this spoil me as this is a once in a lifetime thing. But I can bask in the glory of my beautiful new toys!!!!
Now I guess I need to go and stamp something.......

This is a great video so you can see how to use the corner scallop punch (118870) and the scallop trim border punch (118402). This border punch is free right now during Sale-a-bration. Just purchase 65.00 in merchandise and this little beauty could be yours. :) You know you want it!

Good morning, it is nice to see the sun after what has been a very snowy 2 days.
I am just letting you all know that I am going to need at least 2 weeks before you see another post from me. We have decided to paint the dining room. Well you know how that goes, my DH says why don't I pick up white paint and finish the powder room too...... oh and fix the ceiling too, oh maybe I will build doors too.

Finally I made him get on the phone to hire someone to paint the living room. LOL
But the big thing is my craft room is on the main floor, I try to keep it organized, but with a 2 year old toddling around and thinking everything is fun and pretty and his. It can become disorganized quickly, so I have decided to move it upstairs until my permanent space is ready. So no one sees my mess and it remains safe from the big dumper.
I am actually looking forward to this change it gives us back a room of living space and will allow us to entertain more.

So I will post as I can over the next couple of weeks, and thank you for your patience til I can get up and running at full speed.

Fun and new downloads available for MDS. Corduroy buttons and epoxy brads. Too cute.

These are super easy to download, and an inexpensive item to have. The digital image is the same size as the actual embellishment so you could add it to a digital layout just to pretty it up.
For those of you thinking of going digital this is a great program, with monthly new product to purchase.

I thought I would share this project today. It has some of my favorite things in it. For one the stamp set is friend's 24-7 (this set is awesome), the paper is Razzleberry Lemonade......so pretty.

One thing I also love to do is to re purpose items. This was a formula tin that I covered and filled with chocolate chip cookies as a gift.

I love to design gift packaging and items, I love giving almost as much as I like getting. LOL But I also can't forget the stick pin bling either. This really turned out so pretty and was appreciated by the recipient.

Hello and Happy Friday. I am sorry for the lack of posts this week, but I have a good excuse really I do. It was our Anniversary this week and my DH wisked me away to the city for some much needed relaxation and just plain doing nothing.
I did get to hit a couple of cool stores and my DH gifted me with a really cool Lensbaby "muse" lens for my camera. I haven't used it yet as it is just too cold to go outside.

It is harder than I thought to try and blog everyday, so I have decided the days will remain the same layout of idea's but I will pick and choose the days I post. Some week's will be more and some will be less.

My DH and I are in the middle of a big paint and reno. It's been needed for along time. I can't wait. Also I will be moving to a cool new scrap room. Again can't wait it will be all I have dreamed of.

I looking forward to continue to provide tips and ideas, as well as in the near future Video's. I am so excited about that one. So please continue to drop by and see what I am up too and hopefully help you along with your creative endevers.

I know this is late, but people who know me will be used to it. This is what I did with the colour combo from last week. I just love Sahara Sand, Pale Plum, Perfect plum and mellow moss.
I also love this set. I promise I will publish something tomorrow that is not using that set. Maybe I shouldn't promise anything. LOL
Hope you enjoyed that colour combo.

Good Monday morning. As you know, I am trying to show a digital project or tip to use with MDS from Stampin' Up!. So today I give you my new blog header. It is just sample one and will probably change again before the day is over.
I am really challenged when it comes to computer things so the fact that I made a header and installed it is a big "Yeah Me!" moment.
The paper and embellishments are the My sweet pea digital set. Don't have MDS no problem these can be downloaded to work with adobe photoshop as well.

I made the header by starting with a 12x12 scrap book page and then I cropped it in a really cool (free) photo program called Picasa 3. It was super simple now I can back and jazz it up a bit more.

Good morning it is a nice sunny day here and I am busy scrapping away, don't have anything ready to show yet, but later today I will post the page I am working on.

I recently came across the few random pictures taken of my childhood (youngest child syndrome) I want to be able to present them in a meaningful way, so that when I look back on them I get all misty eyed and my kids understand their mother in a new way. LOL So I have been keeping track of a few fun and essential pages for any one's scrapbook.

1: Share the three most defining Moments of your life. This is a good one and one I have pondered for a long while. As a cancer survivor I feel an even bigger need to tell my story so my kids will maybe come to understand me. Ok, I know I'm dreaming but it might happen.

2: Describe yourself in 5 words. This is another really cool one that I can't wait to do. I also think this should be done yearly. A good January project while all those goals are still fresh in our minds.

3 Focus on a hidden talent. I have been told we all have talents, some hidden some we love to share. Take the time to let the world know what you can do. As long as it's not embarrassing. :)

4: Reveal a life long dream. We all live busy lives. Sometimes we put our dreams on hold due too, raising a family, illness, caring for others. It's time to put those dreams down on paper.

5: Share a life changing quote or phrase. I am a quote person. I love them, they uplift me greatly. Today I found this one "Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul" Write and share those strong feelings of love, joy and gratitude but don't forget hope and faith.

I know that I plan to do these very layouts. I will share them as I create them.
Hopefully you can find an idea here that sparks your interest.
Happy Scrapping.

It is another cold gray day here in the Ferry. It was fun to be able to whip together a Fun summer layout. Made me feel warmer..... but makes me wish for spring and summer's flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass and bird's featuring from the south.
I used the new Sweet Pea digital kit. Super easy to download and no waiting for shipments to process. :)

I am still learning and just messing around with the basic pieces I hope to receive some advanced training soon. I love the fact that I can actually get some of the piles of pictures I have scrapped quickly and on the go. My girl's are also thrilled that I am finally getting to it. I just need a few more pages completed to I can send them to the printer. I love the new Sweet pea kit it included 48 papers, stamps and embellishments. Great deal for under 14.00.
