I love this new card style. It is called a step card and it allows you to use 3 surfaces for your message or images.
I used the Cottage wall papers for this. I also used the Sizzix birds die. This paper is so pretty!!!!!

The match box is also a die from Sizzix. I made 2 and just stacked them together. The chocolates are hershey nuggets, and I covered them in paper and then put a punch and gem on each one. Makes them so pretty.

The New Holiday Mini goes online tomorrow. I hope to put up a few samples of cool stuff from the mini. If I can get my desk cleared off.

 

I can't wait to scrap these photos. It's all in the story...... The kids took him to the theme park. My son Drew bought an all day lollipop the huge multi coloured ones. Well during a tug of war Drew lost his prize. I do have to say they really don't last all day, he had it finished on the car ride home. Every time drew tried to take it back he was given a quick NO and the evil eye. Too funny. These are to moments to cherish.

 

 

I made these 2 cards using using the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.(115964) I love the beautiful deep impression it gives. I again used a stamp from the peace within stamp set. It is so much fun to water colour. On one card I ran some ink over the embossing to give it depth. But it looks equally pretty plain. I love doing simple cards. Alot of times it's all I have time to do . I am trying to use this rainy weather to get some stamping done. Hopefully I can.

 

This card is a 6x6 card. I absolutely love the new Medallion back ground stamp (115223). It can be used in so many ways. This layout came from the Eco issue of Paper crafts magazine. I loved the card and just changed up the images and colours. I can't find my issue so I cannot credit the original cards maker. But she made a very cool card.

I can't wait to be able to use this stamp for mare cards and scrapbook pages.

 

This card also features a new In Colour. It's called Melon Mambo.....a strange name but a beautiful colour. Easily my Favorite right now.
As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to have it. It is called Peace Within (114312). In the back ground I used a new jumbo wheel called Texture (116685). It is very subtle. I again used the Razzelberry Lemonade paper and used the crushed curry for a matt. I love how these colours work together.

Until then I am going to show you some products from the idea book that I love.

The card above features one of the new In Colours called Crushed Curry, this is such a beautiful colour and works well with so many colours from the Stampin' Up! line.
I used the Movers and Shapers (114506) from page 201. This die for the Big Shot is so much fun to use. It cuts and scores the card for you and you can place the window wherever you want. It also comes with more Magnetic Movers and Shapers (115953) these all co ordinate with our punches and add a fun way to add layer's to your cards and projects.
I used the new Razzelberry Lemonade paper (115675) on this card as well. This Designer paper is so beautiful and features some of the new In Colours.

The stamp Set's used are Friend's 24-7 (113218) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370).

Wow I just can't believe that July has flown by so quickly. The new Catalogue is here and ready to be ordered from. I have placed one order and I am waiting on order number two to arrive. :) What can i say i love new stuff.

Speaking of new stuff..........just wait til you see the new Holiday Mini. Wow, a full 40 pages of amazing stamps and accessories. I really don't know what I love the most. Plus 2 new hostess Set's and both are must haves. I will be able to post some samples in August. But you will want to be at my open house and classes for September.

I got my order of new items from Stampin' Up ! and I can share these with you.
The stamp set is a new level 2 hostess set called, Wings of friend ship and a level 3 Hostess set called Kind and Caring Thoughts.
The papers are some of the new In Colours...... Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and soft suede. The beautiful designer series paper is called Razzleberry Lemonade and it is beautifu!!!

The In Colours come in a marker set this time. Great so that you can colour in the images using the marker as I did here.

This is a way cool and easy to do card that has maximum impact. The added bonus is that it folds and fits into an A2 envelope. From what I can tell this is called a Shutter card. I have seen other versions but I like this one best. I got the instructions from my upline Caroline. Awesome.
For this card I used the Baja Breeze prints DS paper and Chocolate Chip cardstock.
If you have a scor-pal it makes the scoring of this card quick and accurate.
I will be posting the instructions for this card. Later this week.

This is our newest member of the family. I wasn't really sure that I wanted a new dog, let alone a puppy. But Ollie is a sweetie and has become my shadow. I still have much to learn about puppies but he is a doll. I'm sure he'll teach me what i need to learn. My favorite thing about him is , he is only 4 months old, but he never leaves the property and comes when I call. The one down side is he loves cats.......to chase that is. My cats are not so fond of Ollie.

Again I LOVE this Bo Bunny paper. It is just too cute. I love orange too so that is an added bonus.

I'm actually on a roll with my scrapping. I am trying to simplify so that I can get more done.

Of course with an active toddler and a new puppy....I'm not sure what I can get done. Life is never dull.

Well, I can't Believe it but actually scrapped. My wonderful husband bought me an awesome Nikon SLR camera for Mothers Day/ Birthday. So I have been enjoying playing with it. It is so cool and I love the pictures that it takes. (I'll show more of those later.)

This is our dog Piper, she is a Valley Bull Dog. She is 10 years old and we are enjoying our last few weeks together. Piper has lymphoma and there is no treatment, just a palliative treatment we are using. She still has a lot of life left in her, but we see she is not the same dog she was a few months ago. I loved this Bo Bunny doggy paper and was actually glad to do a page for her. I just have to think about what to say in the journaling.

I used the Jumble Alphabet from the upcoming SU! catalogue. I love the fun letters, I will be using it a lot for scrapping I think.

It has been a busy week. We have had moves, birthdays and mad dashes to the airport. That's a story and a half on it's own.

But right now M ike and I are relaxing (yeah right) at my Dad's house. We have done some shopping, enjoyed the sun, seen a couple of movies(Star Trek rocked), and met up with friends.

Pretty much a fun time. It will be over too soon. :(

I just wanted to share a couple of quick pictures of what I did before I flew to Ontario.

Drew turned 15 this week. Not as exciting as 16 but one year closer to being able to drive. Can my nerves handle it. He wanted a Batman cake. He supervised so I got it right and he was thrilled with the results. It's the little things in life that bring joy. Poor batman lasted all of 5 minutes when the time came to cut the cake. So a complete success.
Isn't it nice to be able to do special things for the people you love. I can't wait to scrapbook this for him. I think I see more cakes in my future.

My scrap table is covered with 1/2 finished layouts. It seems there are not enough hours in a day. I've thought about giving up on sleep but......... that doesn't work well either.

So I thought : Why do we scrapbook? What is it that drives us to preserve these memories?

So here is my tip of the day:

While you are thinking about connections to those around you that you love, consider thinking about the world population as well. Think about the causes or charities that are important to you and that you support. They say alot about who you are, which makes them GREAT TOPICS for your scrapbook pages.

Wow, where did March and April go? All I can say is I have been super busy. Hardly got to get anything fun done. Just what had to be done. But It is now spring and i feel motivated and crafty so i can promise May will be a better Month.

What a perfect way to start spring then with a scrapbook frenzy. I am challenging myself to scrap a page a day.

It's March already? Boy, I must have overslept. I am not really sure where February went but it was a hustle and bustle of activity.

There are so many super things in the new occasions mini, I can't wait to get my order into my hands....it was almost like Christmas. Watch at the end of the month for some great sneak peeks at the rest of the mini!!! Well worth the wait.

I found a cool tutorial over on SCS. It is a crimped envelope card. Fast and so cute. I see them used for all kinds of things. Invitations, gift cards, love notes or little gifties. We all like those.

I made this card for a friend who isn't feeling very well right now. I seem to have too many of those these days.

For this you need a regular A2 envelope. You seal the flap and then cut 1 1/4 inches off the short end. You stamp the envelope and then run it through the crimper. Note: crimping will distort the image. I used the flower from Thoughts and Prayers. I used my quickie glue pen to trace the stem and then I poured on the new brown glitter.......so yummy!I stamped a sentiment on a card for the inside. Dimensions for this are 4 by 5 inches. I really love this idea.This is a picture with the lid off. I really hope my friend likes her card.
Here is one I did in riding hood red, using the Friends 24-7 set and the matching jumbo wheel. I love this set a lot, can't wait to play some more.

Again I needed a quick card for an anniversary. My husband and I celebrated 18 years of marriage on Feb. 2nd. We went out for lunch to celebrate with friends who have the same anniversary almost to the hour. They have been married 18 years and 1 hour. LOL Whatever!
But I wanted to make a card to celebrate the event. I thought this background was perfect. This is pretty simple, my favorite part is I took a quickie glue pen and went around the flourish on the bird and covered it in dazzling diamonds. Very pretty!

Well the first order of the new catalogue finally arrived. I couldn't wait to get my new toys out to play. I ordered texture plates, a circle scissor and some beautiful new sets. I love how fast and easy it goes now with all the sets being die cut.

I needed a masculine card to let someone know we were thinking of him. I just LOVE this new set Thoughts and Prayers, it is the perfect set for expressing those sometimes hard to put into words moments.
The chocolate chip piece I ran through the Big Shot with the diamond texture plate. I really like it, it gives a nice crisp impression. I coloured the tree with chocolate chip and old olive markers.

I am going to love using this tree, check out the co-ordinating Decore elements tree. It is going in my living room, as soon as I can get someone to paint.

This is a really fun and quick gift for Valentines Day, or really any occasion. This is a box made from the exclusive Top Note Die for the Big Shot.

Materials: chip board, Whisper White and Riding Hood Red card stock, Love You much stamp set, Candy Lane Designer series paper, flower from the pretties kit, button bouquet,scallop edge punch,Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and one inch double stitched grosgrain ribbon.

This project is my take on the box shown on page 80 of the Idea Book and Catalogue.

I used chipboard that was 4x6 inches. I used the Anywhere glue stick and glued the designer paper to the chipboard. I then ran it through the the Big Shot to cut it out. I stamped the Love on whisper white in Riding Hood Red. I used the scallop edge punch on both ends and inked it. Using a quickie glue pen I filled in the love and then used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

For the box part it was trial and error.......mostly error. LOL

I cut 2 pieces of Riding Hood Red card stock 41/4x 51/2. The first piece I scored at 1 inch on all sides. On each corner the score lines will make a square, I cut one of those down to the first score line. I know this is as clear as mud, so if you need pictures let me know.

I then folded it to make the bottom of the box. I used the Scor pal for this project, so to make the second part of the box you need to make it a little bigger or smaller than one inch. I made it smaller, I lined my paper up to the first tick on the score pal and scored at the one inch mark.

The second box is made the same way as the first.

I set my box on my chipboard cutout and traced it with a pencil. I used sticky strip to adhere it. Then I put my box together. I tied the ribbon around the box, to finish it up. This can be filled with paper wrapped Hershey Nuggets or other candy or trinkets.

These boxes are easier to make the more you do them. I really like these and intend to use them a lot as little gift boxes.

Craft Yard Sale Postponed.
I just wanted to let people in the area know that I have rescheduled for February 14Th, what better to do then buy some cool new paper crafting items to lovingly add to your stash.
The sale will be at the Granville Ferry Hall and run from 10 am til 2pm. Come early for best selection. There will be all kinds of samples and a make and take available too.

The reason for the postponement is due to the (thankfully small) heart attack my husband suffered. He is doing much better and believe me I am watching him like a hawk.
Looking forward to seeing everybody on the 14Th.

I decided that tonight would be a good night to play a little with my cricut and some vinyl. I got 2 new font cartridges and I wanted to try them out a little. One is Storybook the other is Calligraphy collection. I used brown vinyl and some black as well. I will replace the black with brown when I get more. Some little monkey took out the blade assembly and put it in back words........so I thought I was cutting on 6 but it was really set to 1. So I ruined one whole piece of vinyl. :( I got it figured out anyway.
Stampin' Up ! has chosen these 3 words as a statement about the company. I think they are wonderful words about what I Love to do. This wall is over my computer desk.
I used the Decor elements flourish set and the always bird. I love that bird. LOL
I have a couple of other things to add to the wall and then it will be truly finished. But I am really liking how it turned out. I can't wait for phase 3 of Decore Elements, I have one chosen for my living room already. But I will need DH to paint first. Can't wait to be able stamp tomorrow, I have been doing some cool techniques, I am excited to share them with you!!!

I wanted to post some of the projects I have made with the Bundled in Love Promo from Stampin' Up!

The stamp set is too cute and with the new punch and Candy Lane papers it is a real treat.

The first project is peppermint patty covers. These are super easy and so cute. Using different punches you can layer images. I used the scalloped punch, 1 1/4 circle punch and the new 3 heart punch. On one I also used scalloped circles from the Big Shot pennant die.

The next project is a wooden clothes pin altered to be a photo holder or a note holder. These are cute and easy gifts. I used a large wooden clothes pin. Adhered some Candy Lane paper to it using crystal effects. I used a scalloped circle and punched out areas of the stamped image. I layered them on pop dots. I added little pink sticky crystals around the edge. As a final touch I used crystal effects to make the heart in the middle dimensional and shiny.

The next project is a bookmark, made with a large paper clip. I cut out a scalloped circle of chipboard with the Pennant die and the Big Shot. I cut out a matching scallop using the Candy Lane paper. I then cut a Whisper White 1 3/4 circle. I stamped the two birds and coloured them in in Pink Pirouette ink and went over them with crystal effects to get the raised shiny look. I stamped the sentiment friend to friend on it in Chocolate chip ink.

The last project is a little chip board book. I cut all the paper and chipboard using my top note die. I used my handy crop-a-dile to Punch a hole in the side of the pages and I attached a book ring. I used our felt fusion flowers on the cover with crystal brads and well. This would make a cute Valentines Day gift for a friend or relative.

My Motto for this year is going to be " Make it Homemade" So stay tuned for lots of gift type ideas.
